Increases in power demand and consumption are very noticeable. This increase presents a number of challenges to the traditional grid systems. Thus, there is need come up with new solution that copes stringent on energy provides better quality, which gives experience end users. how concept smart grids (SG) came light. SGs have been introduced monitor control produced consumed. In addition this, help reducing electricity bill through integration renewable sources. The underlying smartness resides flow information energy. Information/data flowing implies use sensors meters sense send data about consumed, environment where they deployed. makes direct application IoT. this paper, we implementing an edge platform based single-board computers (SBCs) process stemming from SG. SBCs driven by efficiency cost effectiveness concepts SG trying apply. question tested against distributed job averages random numbers using Hadoop’s MapReduce programming model. SBC implementation NVIDIA Jetson Developer Kit. results work show cluster low-cost, easy maintain, simple deploy, it great candidate for providing computing. Although revealed performance beat one remote cloud servers, could not outperform single-computer platform.
